Hi, check out our pretty tree! It’s a thousand degrees here at the moment, which means this evergreen goodness already feels like Melba toast and will probably be the same color by Christmas proper. But it smells amazing! And nobody’s knocked it over yet, which is one advantage of putting your tree way up high on a blanket box and jamming it in a corner before surrounding it with seven layers of presents. If you look closely though, you can just spy the toes of one of the smalls inching closer and closer on the sofa, so I’m sure it’s only a matter of time…
WordMothers is going dark for 2 weeks, but first I wanted to thank you all again for your incredible support this past year. Since launching last January, we’ve now featured nearly 200 female authors! It’s been an incredible privilege for me to interview so many wonderful writers and I’ve learned heaps — as a blogger, as a fan, as a writer myself… Thanks to all of you who have contributed in some way to making this site such a joy to run!
I’ve already begun lining up interviews for 2016 and look forward to reconnecting with all of you then. In the meantime, here’s wishing everyone a safe and peaceful holiday season!
Warm regards,
Nicole
From sunbaked Melbourne, a big thank you Nicole for this website and some amazing inspiration and connections throughout the year! Best wishes to you and your growing family and well done on somehow managing what sounds like a very balanced year 🙂 (again I don’t know how you guys with kids can do all this!)

Ha! No, very unbalanced as we threw a third school into the mix this year and could barely get out of bed by the time we hit November we were so tired. But we made it and I’m sure next year will be a cinch! 😀 It has been lovely getting to know you, Carolyn, and I look forward to chatting more in 2016! x

Just to say how much I have loved, valued, learnt and been inspired by your wonderful blog apart from your support to me! It has been one of my most rewarding writing experiences in 2015.
Wishing you a happy, restful time with your big brood…you deserve a festive break and I wish you great great things in 2016!

Reading that it’s “over a thousand degrees” where you’re at is just so bizarre-sounding to me, when it’s been anything but that as if lately where I’m at. Anyway, it’s been great getting to read your blog during its first year and I look forward to reading more from you in 2016.
