New resources page: Women’s Literary Awards & Prizes PLUS Picture Book special!

Nicole Melanson - WordMothers - Picture Books

Well, I inadvertently took the week off blogging, thanks to vertigo. Barometric pressure changes are not my friend.

But I’m back! And I’m excited to announce that WordMothers will be celebrating Picture Book Month with 4 fantastic Aussie authors: Susan Whelan, Sandy Fussell, Debra Tidball and Jackie French (who just so happens to be Australian Children’s Laureate).

I’ve also added a new resources page: Women’s Literary Awards & Prizes. This list comprises awards given to previously published work by female authors. I’m planning to follow up soon with another list on Contests & Competitions supporting new work.

As always, if you have anything to add, please drop me a line.

Happy reading! 🙂

  1. Eeee! Jackie French! Can’t wait, especially if wombats are involved 😉 Sorry to hear about the vertigo, the pressure changes are no fun (they trigger migraines for me). And looking forward to checking out the Awards & Comps pages 🙂 Thanks for all of this, Nicole!

    1. Jackie’s the best. She recently injured her wrist so I think she may have actually typed 1000 words for me all with one finger! I guess that’s why she’s so successful. 😀 Enjoy the new page. Hoping to get the next list up soon and then I want to hear all sorts of news about readers entering contests! 🙂

      1. Now that’s inspiring! And I do like entering contests – as a self-published author, they make me work to a deadline, plus re-think my taglines & synopses & bios 🙂
